Vanessa is the visionary founder and chief travel curator behind DEJ&C. Born in England, she started her first adventure at the tender age of 6 on the high seas to the Caribbean.
Though it took time for her to adapt to the rhythms and cultures, she was already hooked by the music of the Caribbean. By age 12, the family was on the move again heading back to the UK. It was on this return trip that her passion for travel was born.
Since moving to Canada, Vanessa has been kissed by Giraffes in Nairobi, visited the citadel of Machu Picchu, travelled to 12 countries in Europe, 4 countries in Africa, been on 3 African Safaris, visited the Ngorongoro Crater, zip lined & water rafting in Costa Rica, visited most of the Caribbean Islands & Mexico, stopped in El Salvador and some countries in South America. She's also visited 10 states in the USA.
Vanessa has spent the last 28 years honing her craft, having worked for some of the largest travel companies in the world. Â
She is a TICO Certified Travel Counsellor and Supervisor/Manager, a past Professor at Seneca College, (teaching Travel & Tourism) a Certified Destination Weddings & Honeymoon Specialist, Certified Sandals Specialist, Certified Event Planner, Spa & Wellness Specialist, AMResorts Master Agent as well as a Meeting & Incentive Travel Planner.
The combination of her vast travel knowledge, paired with her insane creativity, has given her the skills to curate and design vacation experiences that are rich with history, culture, luxury and personal growth.Â
Vanessa is constantly learning, teaching and coaching travel agents to maximize their profits in their business. She works with independent travel agents to find their place in travel as well as speaking engagements to teach others that there is more to life and living, than being in a ‘box.’  She strongly believes the world is our oyster and we have the freedom to do anything and go anywhere in it!Â
Next to the beaches of the Caribbean & Mexico, Vanessa's favourite pastimes are trying the many culinary flavours wherever she travels as well as relaxing on river cruises of Europe & the Nile in Egypt!

Jennifer has over 3 decades of providing Meeting and Conference services to Corporate clients, Event Planning to our wedding clients. She pays great attention to detail, providing the best experience possible on all budgets. As past Director of Meeting and Conferences Services for a large accounting firm, she was responsible for sourcing, recommending locations/venues, co-ordination, execution and delivery of the firm’s conferences, meetings and training programs.
Jennifer is an extremely organized, professional and have a calm demeanor about her, even when faced with stressful situations. She is committed to making sure clients and attendees have a great experience, so they’ll look forward to the next program they attend. She is also very passionate about her job and really enjoys the people she works with.
Many years ago, her days would run 10 hours or more a day in the office and up to 16-18 hours when doing onsite programs. One year, finding out she had 13 weeks vacation on the books from carrying weeks forward, was a big indication that she was not taking enough time for herself. Since then, she has made sure she takes her vacations each year. Jennifer’s past trips include all inclusive vacations to the Caribbean & Mexico, Cruises, Europe & the USA. In her spare time, you will always find her planning her next vacation to somewhere exotic!

Shola, comes to us from East Africa and handles all of our administrative duties. She ensures everything is running smoothly, all correspondence from clients are actioned immediately and reviews all documents and contracts carefully to ensure no small detail is overlooked.  She also assists with organizing all events and is also integral in working with our suppliers to schedule our Learning Journeys Tea and Travel Talks each week.
Shola keeps her fingers on the pulse of travel with photography & blogging, one of her favourite pastimes next to eating and fashion. Her next adventure is to visit South America, specifically, Ecuador, Peru & Bolivia!
